New Families

Welcome From John Eliot Parent-Teacher Council!
Welcome to John Eliot Elementary! The John Eliot Parent-Teacher Council would like to welcome all students and their families. Starting at a new school, whether as a Kindergartener or as an older student, can be a challenge. We have put together some information in order to try to address common questions for new families. In addition, please do not hesitate to contact us with any additional questions.

Brand new to the Eliot District?
Your first step is to Register with the Needham School District. All necessary registration documents and forms are listed on the District website along with step by step instructions for registering your child.

School Calendars and other District Information
The Needham Public School District has school calendar information as well as other district-wide information ranging from lunch menus to District goals.

Health Questions?
Information regarding school health policy such as medications, health screenings, and allergies can be found at District Health Services. Eliot Elementary has a wonderful school nurse who is a dedicated and loving resource for all students. If your child has any medications that must be given during the school, day please contact the school nurse by phone (ext, 52111) or e-mail ([email protected]).

What’s happening at Eliot?
If your child is starting mid-year, a great way to get involved is to attend a PTC (Eliot Parent-Teacher Council) sponsored event or fundraiser. The Eliot PTC Events page, Meetings and Bulletins page, and the Eliot School Bulletin have information on school events, the PTC meeting dates, and meetings with Principal Bourn.

These are only a few resources and we understand you might be looking for additional information. Feel free to reach out to the PTC Presidents if you have questions or suggestions for additional information you'd like to see on this site. Additionally, see below for an explanation of many of the acronyms and terms we Eliot PTC parents have gotten used to!

What Does This mean? Acronyms and Abbreviations in the Needham Schools:
